This is one of the cleanest beaches in India. Located 6 km from the pilgrimage town of Udupi in Karnataka,
Malpe is at the mouth of the Malpe River and a perfect blend of tropical
sunshine and much covered seclusion. Once at Malpe beach, you will find
yourself in the lap of nature, in the idyllic surroundings, you can relax to
the soothing sound of the sea and mild swaying of the palm trees.
This is very nice beach without heavy tides in sea. Calm
Beach with white sand and nice place to take kids. Clean beach with white sand. Here you can enjoy the water scooter, the
camel rides, horse ride, boating and paragliding.
Here you can have ice creams and fish from the street
vendors. And just sit on the beach and enjoy the waters, this is very nice
place to enjoy with family.
If you are planning evening time to go there then you can enjoy beautiful sunset.
Getting there:
Mangalore is a nearest airport to reach Malpe beach. From Mangalore airport you can hire taxi, it is around 110 km to Malpe beach. Udupi is the main
railhead on the Konkan Railway line. The beach is connected by good motorable
roads to different places in South India. From udupi u can get auto, they will charge 100 (Indian) ruppes.
From udupi city bustand can get number of buses for malpe beach. They will charge only 10 (Indian) ruppes.
My Experience :
This is one of my best beach experiences; beach is clean and
not much crowd, you will find max of family on the beach lots of food stall
with vegetarian and non vegetarian option.
